Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Take That frontman and X Factor judge Gary Barlow and his family this morning after their baby daughter was delivered still born.

Gary’s wife Dawn was 8 months into the pregnancy but was taken into hospital on August 4th after starting to experience contractions.

The couple took some time to come to terms with little Poppy’s death before Gary released an official statement yesterday breaking the heart wrenching news. The star said “Dawn and I are devastated to announce we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts.”

Doctors are unclear as to why Little Poppy was still born as Dawn had experienced a very stable pregnancy up until the birth. Senior Consultant Midwife at St Thomas’s Hospital Annette Briley said that sometimes there are no obvious causes, “There are all sorts of conditions that can cause stillbirths but sometimes there is no reason at all.” She said, “What’s important is that they take time and space to get over their loss, and get the support of friends and family.”

Countless Celebrity friends of Gary have been paying their respects to little Poppy, Britains Got Talent judge Amanda Holden said “My Heart and love goes out to Gary and his family xx” while fellow X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos said “My thoughts and prayers are with Gary and Dawn. It’s heartbreaking”.

Gary’s next public appearance is set to be this Sunday, 12th August, at the Olympics closing ceremony.
