BBC’s The Voice Set For Radical Revamp!

The-Voice-UK-LogoBBC reality talent show The Voice is set to undergo a radical revamp before it returns for its second series after ratings fell to an all time low over the weekend.

When the show first aired a couple of months back it was pulling in an impressive 12.1 million viewers but as the talent search has progressed to the final stages, with the live final this weekend, it has continued to loose viewers with last Sunday’s results show, which saw mega star Kylie MInogue perform her new single Timebomb’, raking in a dismal 5.2 million.

The Dutch genius behind the show John De Mol has now also spoken of how improvements are desperately needed to win back The Voice faithful, John said “We’ll have a meeting with the BBC to come up with some new ideas to make the live shows more exciting. The role of the coaches can be bigger. In the semi-final, the coaches were just watching the talent perform. They had no influence. That’s something we should change”.

The current judges on the show, Jessie J, Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue, have taken a lot of the criticism for the dropping figures with claims that the stars comments and their consistent positivity lacks any real honesty. John, who is also the brains behind shows Deal or No Deal and Big Brother, said “It’s something we must work on. More competition. We’ll talk about the coaches with the BBC right after the final this Saturday. As far as I’m concerned we have four great characters but it’s too early to say.”

What do you think bosses should do to improve the show?

Do they need new judges?

Should it be scrapped?
