Simon Cowell believes a judging role on the US ‘X Factor’ would be a “walk in the park” for Britney Spears.
The music mogul thinks the 30-year-old singer – who has sons Sean Preston, six, and Jayden James, five, with ex-husband Kevin Federline – would be an ideal judge on the talent show because she has “resilience” after juggling her music and family life throughout her career, he said: “I’m fascinated by [Britney.] The fact that she’s one of the most talked about – not just pop stars – but people in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power. This girl has got resilience. I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, [‘X Factor’ would be] a walk in the park. I would be fascinated to hear what she had to say. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial, there’s a reason for that.”
As well as Britney, Simon believes Janet Jackson – who has been linked with a position on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel – would be a “good” addition to the series, he added: “Would she be a good judge? Yes.”
Simon also revealed the US ‘X Factor’ is set to undergo a format change this year, which will see “more emphasis” on the wannabe singers. Speaking on ‘The Billy Bush Show’, he explained: “We’re making a new show this year. We have to put much more emphasis on the contestants this year.”
