Eastenders bosses have revealed an explosive Summer storyline that will see promiscuious character Kat Slater, played by Jessie Wallace, embark on an affair with a mystery lover.

Eastenders fans will see Kat return to Albert Square later this week after spending time away to look after her sick Father Charlie. All is not well when she returns however as she fears the spark between her and hubby Alfie, played by Shane Ritchie, has fizzled out. Kat battles to try and win back the affections of her Husband but when her efforts fail she is unable to resist the charms of a ‘mysterious’ gentlemen and ends up embarking on a Summer affair.

BBC bosses have revealed that this story will run throughout the Summer with Kat battling the guilt of cheating on her faithful hubby as she fails in her attempts to end her sordid secret.

There are at least five people in the frame for the ‘mysterious lover’ rumours, could it be hunky chef Ray Dixon, one of the three Branning brothers, Max, Derek or Jack or maybe it could be Michael Moon? We will just have wait to find out…..
