The BizzNiz have featured Archeo (Ar-Kay-O) previously, during the very early days of our site, and we were extremely excited about his talent back then.
The 21 year old London based singer songwriter broke onto the scene with his debut single ‘Mr.General’ a few months back which caught the attention of many within the music industry, the catchy bridge, anthemic chorus and relevant topics that featured throughout the track proved that this young man had talent.
Archeo latest track ‘Glass Half Empty’ shows just how versatile this guy is, with it’s hefty bass line and a truly ground shaking beat that will get the clubs moving, it’s reminiscent of the heavier Hip Hop tracks from the likes of Snoop Dogg, DMX or Exhibit.
Archeo vast globe trotting childhood and cultured upbringing has definitely contributed to the singers sound. His mother is from Panama and his dad hails from India, where his business saw Archeo move around a lot. The young star lived in Hong Kong for five years, studied at an American school in Nigeria, then settled to London when he was 11. ‘Glass Half Empty’ is a homage to Archeo’s vast array of influences and to the mash-up culture we live in today, where Archeo says he feels obliged to mix it up. It combines clattering percussion and slinky funk harmonies with debaucherous lyrics sung by Archeo’s hugely distinctive voice. Archeo describes the track himself as an ‘”intergalactic-future-funk-crunk record”.
In our opinion, it will not be long before your regularly hearing this guy on your radio’s, watching him strut his stuff in his eccentric vintage clothing on your TV and anxiously waiting on phone lines for his live show ticket! We urge you, watch out for Archeo!
‘Glass Half Empty’ is released on April 15th via Archeo’s own record label Music Mantra but you can check it out right now, right here:
