‘Mr Hollywood’ is the debut single by Canadian duo – The Magic.
The band consists of brother and sister Evan and Geordie Gordon, who hail from a small town called Guelph, on the outskirts of Toronto.
With a fresh sound taking in syncopated disco rhythms, languid 80s funk, and FM pop – this is credible pop music which recalls the white funk of Talking Heads.
‘Mr Hollywood ‘features the languid vocals of Geordie, who also plays guitar and keys, with Evan on bass, backing vocals and production.
The single ‘Mr Hollywood’ is released on Half Machine Records, on Monday 25th June. It is taken from the debut album ‘Ragged Gold’.
