Marina and the Diamonds
Marina and the Diamonds have unveiled the video for ‘Power and Control’, the second single from the number one album ‘Electra Heart’.
‘Power and Control’, written with Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia and produced by Greg Kurstin (Lilly Allen, Kylie Minogue, Kesha among many others) will be will be released on 9th July.
The track is pure electro/pop, but features intelligent lyrics about the complexities of relationships between men and women.
The video to ‘Power and Control’ is a stylish and understated affair. Marina is a rare beast in these days, a female artist who, while striking and glamorous, does not use sex appeal to sell her records. She is popstar with classy tunes, and lyrics that are both confessional and thought provoking.
‘Electra Heart’ has proved a critical as well as commercial success – receiving great reviews, and Primadonna – the record’s first single was Marina’s first Top 10 single. The album has proved a huge leap forward for Marina, underlining that she is amongst the most talented young British artists around.
Marina has taken her critically acclaimed live show to all points on the globe over the last two years and has firmly cemented a reputation as one of the most engaging performers around. She is currently on tour with worldwide superstars Coldplay for five months on their US and European tour as a main support, and will be touring the UK for her rescheduled dates this month–in addition will be she will be performing more shows here in October.
