Super exciting news people, Kylie Minogue is releasing a new compilation of some of her her best known songs, as part of the celebrations to mark her 25 years in the business.
‘The Best of Kylie Minogue’ will be released on EMI on June 4th. It features a truly impressive 18 top 5 hits, including 5 mumber 1’s.
Having previously released two singles compilations, one marking the incredible run of hits Kylie had during the first, PWL era of her career, and 2005’s double CD ‘Ultimate Kylie’, this new collection features a carefully chosen selection of some of her biggest hits spanning the whole of her 25 year career. The tracks were chosen by the fans through extensive market research conducted by EMI late last year.
From the youthful innocence of ‘I should be so lucky’, through the sophisticated ‘Indie’ Kylie of the Deconstruction era on ‘Confide in me’, the world conquering robo-pop of ‘Can’t get you of my head’, right up to 2010’s assured anthem ‘All the lover’s’, the album shows a performer who has developed and diversified her sound, yet never lost her winning pop sensibility.
A Special Edition CD/DVD of ‘The Best of’ will also be made available, with the DVD featuring all the accompanying videos.
Kylie’s first single, “Locomotion” was released in Australia on 28th July 1987…25 years ago this July! She is celebrating this milestone throughout the year with an eclectic program of musical releases, performances, collaborations, publications, merchandise, film and other surprises.
Now renowned for her live shows, Kylie recently headlined The Mardi Gras in Sydney before immediately embarking upon her bold and much anticipated Anti Tour at which she performed a (relatively) stripped down set of some of her most popular album tracks and ‘b’sides. Next month sees her performing for the Queen’s Jubilee in front of Buckingham Palace and later headlining Proms in the Park, followed by a continuing series of surprises, worldwide.
