The man convicted of killing three family members of former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudsen has been given three life sentences.

31 year old William Balfour was arrested and charged with the murders of Hudsen’s Mother, Darnell Donersen, Brother, Jason Hudsen and her nephew Julian King back in May, with reports suggesting that Balfour had commited the hideous crimes due to feelings of jealousy he had developed over Hudsen’s sister and ex-girlfriend Julia. Balfour had become increasingly unstable after he had become aware that Julia had started a new relationship.

The sentencing took place at a Chicago court, with the ’Spotlight’ singer Jennifer in attendance. Upon passing the verdict the judge allegedly told William “Your soul is as barren as dark space.”

Jennifer will undoubtedly feel an elemment of relief now that her family have been given some form of justice.
