Is Jessie J Set To Get The Voice Axe?

Jessie J The VoiceReports are emerging this morning that The Voice UK mentor and hit music maker Jessie J could be set to get the chop from BBC reality talent show The Voice after just one series.

UK tabloid The Daily Mirror is reporting that BBC bosses are enraged by Jessie’s attitude and were disgusted when she called parts of the show ‘lame’ when recently appearing with Graham Norton on his UK chat show. A BBC insider said, “Many of the show’s most senior staff are angry that Jessie criticised the show’s production values so publicly. Jessie is paid a huge amount of money to be a big part of the show, and should be one of the show’s most vocal supporters. It has had a huge impact on what many of the show’s staff think about her. Obviously the dip in viewers means producers need to speak frankly with all members of the team, but with Jessie there’s not really any point. You can’t tell her anything.”

The ‘Domino’ singer made the comments when discussing the BBC’s request that all those appearing on the two shows should wear the same outfits for both evenings to help with the editing, Jessie said, “It was lame and not thought through.” Bosses are also said to be ‘fed up’ with the stars attitude, consistent late arrival and her massive entourage.

Show bosses are now said to be drawing up emergency plans to re-boost show ratings and claim the Saturday night reality TV title from rival show Britains Got Talent as The Voice results show slumped to just 6.6 million viewers on it’s last airing compared to the 10 million from the previous weeks.

Cheryl Cole, Kylie Minogue and Adele are being lined up to perform on upcoming live shows in order to pull in the viewers as Jessie’s future still remains uncertain.

Should the BBC get rid of Jessie? Who could do a better job? Let us know your thoughts….
