New & Fresh: Kill The Complex – ‘Shine’ (Official Video)
The BizzNiz are excited to present LA based rockers Kill The Complex and their brand new track ‘Shine’.
Like the majority of Los Angeles residents, the members of Kill the Complex are transplants, actually they’re really a geographical mutt. Dann Saxton (lead singer) is from Minnesota, Ted Barakat (drummer) was born in Beirut, Lebanon, Mike Elling (bassist) hails from New Jersey. Gabe Heredia (Guitarist) was born in Burbank, but lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a teenager. Saxton and Barakat joined forces and formed the punk rock band Butane, with Heredia coming into the mix two years later, where Butane eventually evolved into Kill the Complex.
Kill The Complex have been making a big name for themselves across the pond in the USA with countless music feature’s in MTV’s Jersey Shore, Pimp My Ride, Cribs and Meet The Barkers as well as Bravo’s hit reality show The Real Housewives Of Orange County and now they look set to transfer that success on the UK charts with current single ‘Shine’.
The single, taken from last years album ‘Evolution’, has received extensive air play in the USA and lead singer Dann Saxton describes the single as portraying who the band are right now, he said “‘Shine’ is a song that really represents who we are as a band today. And the concept that our director, Sebastian Davis, brought to the table, it really was perfect in illustrating the mood of the song. It’s very abstract, but also very beautiful.” Dann also explained the nature behind the bands choice of name, he said “Mostly everything for me is mental, and just really trying to kill the complex of your heart and fighting for control. That being the huge disconnect between human beings really. You know, everyone just takes things too seriously I think. I think we can all just get along.”
