Finally we have something new and fresh from the genius miniature funk legend Prince!
The ‘Purple Rain’ creater has been busy touring across the US and Europe with his set of ‘Welcome To…’ tours and is now about to set up camp in Canada with a collection of shows.
It was announced a couple of weeks back, much to my delight, that Prince has recently signed a 3 album deal with a relatively unknown Swiss House music label Purple Music. The ‘Raspberry Beret’ singer will release his track ‘Dance 4 Me’ taken from his album ‘MPLSound’ in the coming weeks with the first album to follow in the new year.
The new track ,’Extraloveable’, proves that everything the 53 year old touches turns to funk! Following on from the style and more commercial route he took with last album ‘20Ten’ the dirty synth bass, catchy keys and the occasional funky guitar pluck on this track make it a confirmed ‘head nodder!
