Olly Murs is attempting to get Cheryl Cole’s phone number.

The ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ hitmaker – who is currently single – joked that you “can’t blame a guy for trying” to get her number after she sent him her well-wishes via the medium of twitter.

Olly and a number of the pair’s mutual fans tweeted Cheryl, she said “@ollyofficial sod it ill tweet you back lol… Hope your good babe. (sic)” to which Olly replied: “Haha sod it @CherylCole I’ll ask for your number then #cantblameaguyfortrying #worthashot lol haha. (sic)”

Olly has bemoaned his single status for some time, and admitted living with his parents has somewhat hampered his love life, he recently said: “I never bring girls home. My mum and dad wouldn’t let me have girls over. They’re only allowed to come for dinner and do it properly. So if I met a girl, I’d have to go to their house – or get a hotel room – if that’s what they wanted.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl has been linked to the likes of singer Taio Cruz and dancer Derek Hough following her divorce from Chelsea football star Ashley Cole in September 2010.
