Former Boyzone front man Ronan Keating is heading back into the studio to work on his first solo material in 5 years. Lets not get too excited though people as it appears the Irish heartthrob will be focusing his attentions on Folk music!

The 34 year old star has been busy over the last few years touring with Boyzone, judging talent in Australia and re-building his family after his affair that broke into the headlines in 2010.

Now though, Ronan has said that he is ready to get back into the studio and start work on his solo album. The ‘Mummy’s favourite’ spoke about his plans recently saying, “Now I have a new lease of life and I’m ready to write and record.I ‘m working on a new studio album, which I hope to release later this year. It’s my first studio album in five years and will feature brand new songs. It has a folk feel at the moment but the sound is changing all the time.”

Something to look forward to for some I suppose?
