Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger was yesterday confirmed as the new permanent judge on the UK’s X Factor panel.

The 33 year old took the position after various other stars, including Geri Halliwell and Anastacia, had guest judged throughout the audition stages. Nicole, full name Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente, will join up with the other usual suspects Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos. Barlow spoke about the aquisition of Nicole, saying “I’m made up. I thought all the guest judges were excellent but she had the edge. She’s exciting, has years of experience and was great on The US X Factor.”

The ‘Poison’ singer, who was also a judge on the US version of the show last year, is now set to be moving to the UK while she films the series but has revealed she is likely to spend less time with lover Lewis Hamilton, Nicole said “I’m actually going to spend less time with Lewis. I believe the X Factor shows are going to be running the same time as his races. But I’ll juggle things. I think everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. It’ll be OK.”
