Legendary British singer/songwriter Sir Elton John has been  rushed to hospital after reportedly suffering a ‘serious respiratory infection’.

The ‘Candle In The Wind ‘ singer was rushed to an LA hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning to undergo tests after feeling poorly at recent set of shows. The singer has now been ordered not to perform for seven days forcing him to cancel a number of shows at Ceasers Palace in Las Vegas where he holds a current residency.

Elton is now believed to be doing fine and is resting at his home with long term partner David Furnish and their 17 month old son Zachary. Elton released a statement apologizing to fans, the singer said “ It feels strange not to be able to perform these Million Dollar Piano concerts at the Colosseum. I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return to the Colosseum in October to complete the 11 concerts. All I can say to the fans is ‘sorry I can’t be with you’.”
