US Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg has decided to change his name to Snoop Lion after embracing the religion of Rastafarianism whilst on a recent trip to Jamaica. The star, who is widely recognised for his free use of Marijuana, explained his reasons for the name change saying “I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion. I didn’t know that until I went to the temple where the High Priest asked me what my name was and I said, ‘Snoop Dogg’. He looked me in my eyes and said, ‘No more. You are the light — you are the lion’.”

The star, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus JR, is now set to release a Reggae album under his new alias.
