BBC bosses have pulled the plug on the scheduled UK tour for reality show The Voice.
The planned eleven date live show, which was set to feature the live acts from the series, have all been canned after the demand for tickets was poor.
This is yet another blow for the BBC after viewing figures for the singing competition steadily continued to drop after the audition stages with winner, Leanne Mitchell, failing to impress with her debut single release. Universal Music, who offered the contest winner a full recording contract, are said to be considering their options and may not choose to be involved in the next series.
Finalists Bo Bruce, Vince Kidd, Jaz Ellington, Tyler James and Ruth Brown were all geared up to get a taste of fame by performing on some of the biggest stages across the country but it now seems their journey is set to end abruptly.
Despite the continued criticism for the show BBC One head ‘honcho’ confirmed the show will be returning, Danny Cohen said “We’re confident that The Voice will return even stronger.”
