What’s To Come: This Week On Eastenders

This week you’re in for a treat! There are SEVEN episodes of your favourite soap, and it’s back to BBC1 too!

Week beginnig: Monday 13th August

In the first of two episodes on Monday, Phil is still panicking that Ian could reveal the truth about Heather’s murder. Phil has told Ben and Jay to keep Ian away from the engagement party, but with Shirley insisting that they be there, they have no choice but to bring Ian along. As the party gets under way, Patrick unveils a picture of Shirley and Heather as an engagement present for Shirley. Seeing the image of Heather pushes Ian visibly over the edge, so Alfie tries to help his friend by taking him out the back and away from the other punters.

Seeing the state that his brother is in, Ben informs Phil that he intends to hand himself in before the police come

looking. When there is a sudden knock on the door, the guilty Mitchells fear that it could already be too late. However, when Phil answers, he is shocked to find a familiar face standing before him in a wedding dress! Sharon Rickman is back, but she’s in a spot of bother and is in desperate need of some help…

In the second helping on Monday evening we find out Sharon’s troubles. She has walked out on her groom but left her son Dennis and needs Phil’s help in picking him up. The little lad is safe and well but after a few choice words with the groom, Phil and Sharon turn to see the jilted John and his sister driving off with Dennis.

Meanwhile,Shirley pays a visit to Denise and the pair have a heart-to-heart about Carly. As Denise shows Shirley some pictures that she has, Shirley’s attention is suddenly drawn to a picture frame which is placed on the fireplace. Shirley immediately recognises it as the one which was used to kill Heather…

On Tuesday, Phil and Sharon go on a wild goose chase to get little Dennis back, which ends with the brave lad

jumping out of John’s car and narrowly misses being hit by a car, saved by his Mum. Phil deals with John in true Mitchell fashion, he gives him a whack!

Meanwhile, back on the Square, Shirley tells Denise how significant the photo frame is. Shirley considers going to the police with the discovery, but soon decides to catch the killer herself. Doing some detective work, She asks Kim and Cora how the photo frame ended up at the B&B.Tracing it to Jean’s charity shop delivery, Shirley asks her for answers and is appalled when Jean explains that the frame was in a bag that Phil gave to her. Returning home, Shirley holds up the photo frame in front of Ben and declares that she knows Phil killed Heather…

Wednesday sees Ben trying to convince Shirley that it wasn’t Phil who murdered Heather, but in doing so he makes a big mistake when he  lets slip a vital piece of evidence that only the killer could know. The realisation then dawns on a disgusted Shirley that Ben has been the killer all along… What will she do?

Also on the square, Phil takes Sharon to see Ian. Shocked by the state he’s in, physically and mentally, she comforts him and is determined to help him.

Phil persuades Max to let Sharon stay at his and Max offers her some of Tanya’s clothes. When Jack walks in he gets the wrong idea and thinks that Max is paying Sharon for her services! Receiving a slap across the face, Jack then asks her out on a date, as there’s a spark between them. yet Sharon refuses.

Shirley has a huge decision to make on Thursday when she has to figure out what to do with her information. Meanwhile Sharon manages to convince Lucy to forgive Ian. Devious as ever, Lucy agrees to welcome him back home – but only on the

condition that he signs over all of the businesses to her…At the end of the week Phil tries desperately to keep his family from falling apart – and has a glimmer of hope when, for once, a past Mitchell crime plays in his favour. Meanwhile, Tanya isn’t pleased when she returns home to find a complete stranger wearing her clothes, which means that she and Sharon get off on the wrong foot.

Sharon’s luck changes over at the Vic when she accepts a drink from Jack, and convinces him to buy her engagement ring from her as she desperately needs the money.

And in the last nail biting episode of the week, Shirley has made her mind up, and now has to deal with it. Has she chosen her family? Or justice for her best friend?

Sharon spends the night with Jack, not wanting to alone on what would’ve been her wedding night. But when Jack awakes in the morning, he is alone.

As Ian prepares to return to work, he is stunned to find Lucy’s solicitor waiting for him in the living room. It’s clear that Lucy still wants Ian to sign over his businesses, and she defends her decision by insisting that she needs to guarantee her and Bobby’s security. Clever girl!

I for one, will be glued to Eastenders all this week. Make sure you are too!
