Hollywood superstar Will Smith was put through his paces yesterday as he visited South London to meet some of Britain’s 2012 Olympic hopefuls.
The star was in London to attend the première of his upcoming movie ‘Men In Black III’ ,released next week, but took the time to visit the training gym to try his luck at some of the events millions will be watching this Summer.
GB Basketball captain Drew Sullivan, Hurdler Perry Shakes-Drayton, Super Heavy-Weight boxer Anthony Joshua and Triple Jumper Yamile Aldama were just a few of the athletes that Will took the time to meet and chat to. Smith said, “I’ve always loved sports — I love basketball and I love boxing — but I’ve never been really athletic. It’s the first time I’ve ever done the hurdles and the triple jump, and had any interaction with it. It’s the first time I’ve ever done the hurdles and the triple jump, and had any interaction with it. That stuff is a lot harder than it looks on TV — I’m clearly not a hurdler.”
Will is renowned amongst the media as having a lot of time for his fans and the press and we think it was a nice touch for the actor to spend some time with the GB team, good on ya Will!
